Ink Layout

Okay so discussing body art alot lately and I decided to put up the layout of what Im planning for my back.

Its not going to be this bold and dark, this was done mostly to lay out where it is going to be and how it will wrap arround the various parts of my anatomy.

The design Elements of it are still not fully worked out, hence it hasnt been done yet, I know where certain things are going to go, but the whole thing just hasnt emerged as a completed design.

The idea is that it starts at the base of my neck with a symbolic glyph and then slender ribons of water, air, and curved vines tie together the various subjects. Among them are going to be the Nai'a dolphins on my shoulder who transform in the water into the horses, a humpback whale and calf, some exotic long horned oxen and emblems of the five houses of my performing arts academy. The vines will be Wisteria as that symbolizes who I am, and there will also be elements of a great banyan tree along my hip.

Woven inbetween them will be names of important moments done in UV ink (invisible under most conditions, but glowing under a black light, much like the covenant enscribed on the scales of the dragon on my ankle which look like the script from the ring in the Lord of the rings films)

The motivation for this was largely to cover some gruesome new scars I have across my back from an Aerial stunt and a surfing accident where I got shredded across the coral, as well as a strange birth condition I have (called Blashko lines, which are basically tiger stripes on my back that also only reveal themselves under certain light conditions)

The purpose is not to CONCEAL the scars so much as it is to CLAIM them as my own, and RECLAIM ownership of my flesh from them, but creating something elegant and beautiful and MINE where before there were just remnants of things that had happend to me. I call it "taking ownership of my flesh" as well as my life.

But as I said, its not fully formed yet, so I am still in the planning stages of it... but since it has been a topic of discussion of late, here is the somewhat odd curved way it will use my body as a landscape...
